BIOGRAPHY
Perry El Ashmawi was born in Bahrain in 1988 to Egyptian parents, and in 2009 she attained a BA in Fine Arts from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, majoring in Painting & Drawing.
Perry has showcased her work in Canada, Egypt, Bahrain, and the UAE. She was fortunate to be selected to showcase in three editions of The Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition, held at the Bahrain National Museum. Residing in the UAE, Perry was a selected artist for the 7th edition of the SIKKA Art Fair, the 10th edition of The Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award Exhibition, and two editions of the Annual Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival. In 2021, Perry was awarded a scholarship program for the Artist-in-Residence Grant with the Sheikh Saud Al Qasimi Foundation in Ras Al Khaimah.
She finds inspiration from the innovative styles of contemporary and urban art. Graphic and graffiti illustrative works are a few examples of urban art that influence her designs. Exploring the region's art scene as a practicing artist, Perry is certain that art will always be a lifetime passion.
